For localisation campaigns – speed is the keyword. The fastest turnaround was completed in under 6 hours. This requires agility and focus as well as an intimate knowledge of the territory. We needed to work with complex and sophisticated working files, usually in After Effects, picking out the elements that needed to be localised. The rating might need to be changed in motion graphics, the language might need to be tweaked to appeal to a local audience, and the voice-over often needed to be redubbed in an Australian accent.

Changing just a few elements often means completely revisioning, altering the edit points and the sound mix. We also needed to be aware of localised codecs and aspect ratios for distribution and how to reversion content for different outputs. All at a rapid pace.

Since our long standing relationship in 2017 commenced, The Signal Box has participated in optimising over 12 new game releases across Australia and New Zealand in various formats to multiple disturbers – with more scheduled this year.
