Accessible mobility exercises
THE CHALLENGE
Dance for Parkinson’s Australia wanted to provide movement and dance exercises that anyone could understand and follow in their own homes. The challenge was to ensure the movements were broken down and visible, so that everyone could participate and benefit from these movement exercises.
We knew that filming in 6K was possible on a limited budget.
WHAT WE DID
Filming in 6K was not simply a resolution consideration to ensure the movements would be visually readable by everyone, it was also a strategic consideration regarding the budget and restraints on filming. The 6K resolution allowed us to shoot wide, long and medium shots all in the one shot, giving us the capacity to not only achieve high production value but the absolute minimum of takes and time required.
The Signal Box is passionate about staying across the latest techniques and technologies and as The Black Magic Pocket Cinema 6K camera had just become available, we were keen to offer it as an option. We worked in partnership with Dance for Parkinson’s Australia to break each movement down into its component parts and ensure that everyone was comfortable and evenly lit. The result was a 13-part series with amazing clarity all filmed a matter of hours
